FCA Girls Club Agreement
Fellowship of Christian Athletes Girls Lacrosse Club Agreement and Parent Code of Conduct
At FCA, our mission and vision is to be able to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and through that see the world transformed by Jesus Christ. The FCA Lacrosse Ministry is for any lacrosse athlete, coach, or family who loves lacrosse and has an openness or desire to grow in their relationship with God. We are committed to serving the whole athlete physically, mentally/emotionally and spiritually.
FCA Lacrosse Girls Club Agreement:
-
Playing time is earned based upon skill, performance at practice, attitude, and effort. Playing time is not guaranteed, it is earned and is at the discretion of each coaching staff. If an athlete has a concern about playing time, they should meet with their respective coach. Coaches will provide direct and specific feedback to the athlete. Playing time will not be discussed with parents.
-
A 24-hour cool down period is expected of athletes and parents following each game/competition. During this time there should be no discussions with the coach about playing time, game outcome, strategy, etc. If an athlete feels compelled to meet after 24 hours, they are encouraged to schedule a meeting with the coach.
-
By participating in this club program, athletes are committing to a full club year (i.e.fall season, winter skills & drills, spring season, and summer season, etc.). Practices are mandatory come March 1st as it is the in-season sport for our Middle School athletes and should take priority. For our High School athletes, practices become mandatory in mid-May (dependent on play-off schedules). All athletes are expected to attend each practice, NGLL game, and summer tournament unless they have an extenuating circumstance. If a circumstance arises, the athlete must communicate directly with the head coach of their respective team as soon as the conflict or circumstance arises. We encourage multi-sport athletes and respect that fall and winter sports take priority during those seasons. If at any point throughout the club year, your athlete or family no longer wishes to continue with the program, there will be no refunds.
-
Team Travel and logistics like Hotel Blocks, Tailgates and Tents for games and tournaments will be coordinated by Team Parents.
-
Parent Code of Conduct (see below). By committing to the club and registering your daughter, you are agreeing to abide by and follow the club agreement and code of conduct laid out in this document.
FCA Lacrosse Parent Code of Conduct:
As an FCA parent, I agree to:
-
Let the Coaches coach by supporting them as they help our girls become three-dimensional leaders – mentally, physically, and spiritually. [If there are concerns, please wait at least 24 hours after practice or game play before addressing coaches]
-
Recognize and applaud behavior that demonstrates our values of integrity, teamwork, serving, and excellence.
-
Acknowledge and appreciate the girls’ growth in faith and maturity.
-
Recognize and affirm when good character and healthy sportsmanship are displayed, not just when they have excellent performance on the field by your daughter and her teammates.
-
Serve as role models for our daughters, speaking with respect and acting courteously toward coaches, refs, parents, opponents, and spectators.
-
Encourage our girls with positive statements, even when they make mistakes, and refrain from yelling criticism at any player, coach, ref, or spectator.
-
Accept responsibility for our behavior. We understand that what we do and say affects the team, coaches, and family either positively or negatively.
-
Find ways to serve others and be generous and encouraging with parents from other programs/teams.
-
Find ways to make everyone around me better and bring out the best in them.
-
Control our words and emotions, refraining from derogatory, demeaning talk and profanity.
-
Be open to growing in my relationship with God, and participate in parent huddles when available.
Because we represent our family, coaches, team and FCA, we will honor and live out this Code of Conduct.
